Postpartum Doula Services

I am a certified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula through ProDoula. I am CPR and First Aid trained through the Red Cross. We are trained to assist your postpartum recovery, facilitate breastfeeding or bottle feeding and other infant care. My goal is to ease your transition into parenthood and provide emotional, informational and physical support. My postpartum rate is $40 an hour and $45 an hour from 7 pm until midnight. I don't work any night shifts currently. There is a 4 hour minimum for shifts. Light housekeeping only, meal prep, errands, infant soothing, bathing and care as well as feeding and sleep help. For more detailed information on my services, see the Client Agreement below.

In my Birth Doula services practice I follow the Dona International Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Numerous clinical studies have found that a doula’s presence at birth

  • tends to result in shorter labors with fewer complications
  • reduces negative feelings about one’s childbirth experience
  • reduces the need for Pitocin (a labor-inducing drug), forceps or vacuum extraction and cesareans
  • reduces the mother’s request for pain medication and/or epidurals

Research shows parents who receive support can:

  • Feel more secure and cared for
  • Are more successful in adapting to new family dynamics
  • Have greater success with breastfeeding
  • Have greater self-confidence
  • Have less postpartum depression
  • Have lower incidence of abuse
